Read our full editorial standards →Talking with AI may bring relief for a while, yet the same situation can feel difficult again a few days later. You may need a way to explore one topic over time. Here is how to take reflections from a conversation into daily life and return to them next time.
At a glance
- If you want to continue exploring a concern across sessions and notes after talking with ChatGPT or Gemini, CareOps Maeumi is one option to consider.
- CareOps is our own app for conversations informed by established counseling approaches, plus self-assessments, notes, and exercises.
- If symptoms are worsening or safety is at risk, seek professional help as well.
What does it mean to talk ‘deeper’?
A deep conversation is not just about talking about the same incident in more detail. It can be a process of sequentially examining which scenes produce similar emotions, what thoughts and actions occur at that time, and what to do differently next time. Instead of coming to a conclusion quickly, deal with one thing thoroughly.
For example, if you are worried about ‘I think people hate me,’ you can share the actual scene that occurred, the interpretation that came to mind at the time, and the actions you took to reduce your anxiety. In the next conversation, you can look back on the experience that followed. The purpose is different from receiving new solutions every time.
All you need to take from an existing conversation is three sentences.
- A situation that keeps recurring: “When someone replies late, I think they dislike me.”
- Something I noticed: “Sometimes I treat things I have not confirmed as facts.”
- What I want to revisit: “I want to look at my habit of checking repeatedly when I feel anxious.”
There is no need to copy the entire existing chat. Write in your own words only what you think is important. You can start a conversation without adding your real name, contact information, or other people's personal information. There is no need to link a ChatGPT or Gemini account; just write what you want to continue in your own words.
How to Continue at CareOps Maeumi
CareOps Maeumi is an AI psychological counseling app that allows you to communicate verbally or in writing and continue previous sessions. You can say, “I want to continue with this topic,” and then start looking at specific scenes. If necessary, use exercises such as thought recordings or behavioral experiments, and then reflect on your experience.
An opening might be: “While talking with another AI, I noticed that waiting for a reply makes me anxious. Today, I want to look more closely at one recent situation.” If the AI's interpretation does not match your experience, say so. You can skip or adapt exercises that do not fit.
Your first session is free; later sessions have a fee. Read about features and current prices and the privacy policy before choosing. This is CareOps guidance about its own app. CareOps is a separate service from ChatGPT and Gemini.
Signs that require human consultation rather than an app
If your life continues to become difficult even as you spend more time talking to AI, or if you find yourself having to repeat conversations to get your thoughts confirmed, it's time to look at the method itself. If depression or anxiety persists or has a significant impact on sleep, work, or relationships, consult a professional counselor or medical staff.
If symptoms worsen or daily life is seriously affected, consider seeing a counselor or clinician as well. Diagnosis and medication are decided in clinical care. If you cannot stay safe now, contact local emergency services or a crisis line right away. In South Korea, call 109, 112, or 119.
Bring three lines of context from another AI conversation
You do not need to transfer a full transcript. In your own words, describe the situation, the thoughts or actions that recur, and the question you want to explore next. For example: “I stay quiet in meetings / I criticize myself afterward / I want to understand what feels frightening just before I speak.” Leave out names, contact details, and other people’s sensitive information.
This is a way to explain selected context yourself. Separate things that actually happened from interpretations suggested by the previous AI so Maeumi can pick up more accurately.
What can you return to afterward in Maeumi?
The first-session guide shows a real recap component with understanding, goals, and a topic for next time. If you feel torn about a change, the MI cards show how to consider both sides. Exercises are not required in every session; you can say that you want to keep talking.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I automatically transfer a ChatGPT or Gemini conversation?
- Rather than an automatic transfer, tell Maeumi in your own words what situation you want to revisit and what you noticed. No account linking is needed, and you can leave out personal details.
- Is Maeumi a professional psychologist?
- Maeumi is an AI counselor whose conversations draw on established approaches such as CBT and ACT. English sessions focus on talking with Maeumi and practicing between conversations.
