Read our full editorial standards →A conversation can help things feel clearer, but everyday life brings new complications. Continuing with the same topic means remembering what mattered, noticing what happened afterward, and deciding what to explore next.
At a glance
- Keep three short notes: one moment you discussed, one thing you noticed, and one question to return to.
- CareOps Maeumi is an app that continues conversations based on past sessions and uses exercises such as thought recording and behavioral experiments.
- Maeumi recalls earlier sessions so you can pick up where you left off. If something has changed or its understanding differs from yours, you can correct it on the spot.
Choose one moment to explore
When work, relationships, sleep, and confidence feel tangled together, choose one moment that stands out. “I wanted to speak in the meeting but stopped myself” gives you something concrete to explore, without having to explain your whole life at once.
Choosing a focus does not dismiss your other concerns. You can name what matters today and leave a short note about what you want to return to later.
Separate what happened from what it meant to you
The situation “My colleague did not respond to my suggestion” and the interpretation “It must be because I am useless” are different kinds of information. You can also look separately at how you felt and what you did next. The aim is not to remove feelings or force a positive interpretation.
Try asking Maeumi, “Separate the facts I told you from the parts you inferred.” If an interpretation does not fit your situation, correct it on the spot. The conversation continues from your correction.
Decide what to do outside of the conversation
You do not have to end every conversation with a task. If you want to try something, make it specific: “Write down one question before the next meeting,” rather than “Be confident.” You can also stop after reflecting, without choosing an action.
Practice gives you something to discuss, rather than a score to earn. If you did not try the action, what got in the way? If you tried it, what differed from your expectations? Our emotion diary guide offers another way to keep a brief record.
Start the next session with what actually happened
You might begin: “Last time I planned to write down a question, but I felt too nervous before the meeting.” Explore that moment, including what helped or made it harder. If a different concern matters more today, say so.
CareOps Maeumi brings sessions, records, and practical exercises together. Briefly restate anything you especially want it to understand, and correct details that have changed. For diagnosis, medication, or clinical treatment, work with a qualified professional. To see how this differs from an AI chat companion that always agrees, read AI chat companions vs. AI counseling.
Three checks for an ongoing conversation
| Check | Something you can say |
|---|---|
| Accuracy | “I felt hurt more than angry. Please correct that.” |
| Plan versus outcome | “I planned to ask, but did not. I did write down the question.” |
| Today’s priority | “That earlier topic matters, but something else comes first today.” |
Continuity means looking back on what you planned and what you actually did, then choosing what matters today. You can correct anything that has changed at any time. See a real record interface in the practice guide.
Frequently asked questions
- Does Maeumi remember every conversation perfectly?
- Maeumi recalls what you discussed and what you planned to try in earlier sessions and carries it into the next conversation. Tell it what has changed since then, and correct anything that does not match your experience on the spot.
- Do I have to practice every time?
- You do not need a new exercise in every conversation. Say what support you need now, and adapt or skip suggestions that do not fit.
